I recently listened to the audiobook for Joseph Nyugen’s Don’t Believe Everything You Think. It’s a clear, lucid book whose prescriptions are very simple. Applying them can be varyingly difficult depending on how deeply ingrained our overthinking has gotten over the years. Still, its message is very sound, meaningful, and resonant for all of us. It’s an anxious world, and we need to do our best to cultivate a mindful and nurturing relationship with ourselves and our lives. A big part of that is letting go of our past, in stopping the cycle of overthinking, and in cultivating a sense of belonging—we belong more than we realize—in this world.
